The 67th International Veterinarian Student Association (IVSA) Congress will be hosted in Poland in July 2018. As a fourth year Veterinary Science student in South Africa, I have been selected to attend the event. My ultimate goal as a future supervet is to render the most excellent service to pets and their owners. I realize we live in an “always on” culture where pet owners expect a dedicated and immediately available service. I want to be this future vet for pets. Exposure to the 2018 IVSA Congress in Poland will provide me the opportunity to network with fellow prospective veterinarian students and the experts in this science field. To be abreast of international veterinarian practices will enable me to make a significant difference in educating people and caring for sick animals in all communities requiring this expertise. In my own country the crisis to treat and care for sick animals is reaching epic proportions. Qualified veterinarians are urgently required to deliver this urgent and scarce skill. Please invest in me to become the international supervet for pets of the future.

    Working in some stitches
During last week I did some extra volunteering and shadowing work at a Private Practice in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. Thanks to the amazing veterinarians and vet nurses working there I practiced my stitches on a Schnauzer with skin lesions.
