My Travel Story

Before I even applied to university, I researched studying abroad because I always knew it was something I wanted to do. I have patiently waited years to apply for the study abroad program, and I have been accpeted to Hogeschool Utrecht to continue my journalism studies for a semester next year!

 As someone who wants to be a magazie writer and travel journalist someday, this exchange program is a huge opportunity to get a start in my career and learn more about the world. I have lived at home my entire life and although I am very lucky, I feel like I have been focused on North American culture for so long that I am missing out on an entire world of news, stories, and things to learn.

The journalism exchange program will teach me everything to know about reporting in Europe through classroom sessions, a fieldtrip to Berlin in Germany, a reporting trip to a European city of my choice and the chance to publish articles in Cul Tour Magazine.

Going into a journalism program wasn't a money-making career decision but rather a passion career path. I want to learn new things and travel the world, and this exchange program is my first real chance to do that!
