Hello Everyone,

My name is Kelechi Ibezim and I am a junior at Florida Gulf Coast University studying Health Service Administration with a minor in management.  One of my greatest dreams is to head or partner with the World Health Organization so that I can help promote easy access to affordable good quality health services to marginalized communities around the world. As part of my endeavor to enhance the quality of care in these communities, I plan to establish state of the art facilities in such regions for homeless and/or orphaned children from ages 10 to 18  whose likelihood of being adopted into loving families is slim to none. In addition to providing for the general welfare of these children, the facility will provide teaching, counselling and other services geared towards educational and skills development. The aim is to hone the natural skills and talents of these children in an environment that feels like home and educate them so that they are well equipped to pursue lucrative careers, particularly in health related fields and ultimately have better standards of living.

I have recently been accepted to partake in a hands on study abroad program this summer in Costa Rica.  The program titled "Spanish for Health Professionals" offers practical health and Spanish-language courses focused on health-related vocabulary. Basically, I will be taking classes in Spanish and Healthcare systems. Additionally, to facilitate my fluency in the language, I will be living with a local host family where we would be communicating in Spanish. The goal is that by the end of the summer, I'll be able to hold basic conversation in Spanish especially in relation to Health Care systems and management. As an individual who is passionate about improving global health, I know that fluency in multiple languages would definitely be an asset which is why I am excited at the prospect of participating in this hands on Spanish speaking study abroad program.

The cost of this wonderful opportunity is about $5500. I have already started saving for the program and have made good strides so far in that regard, but I still have some ways to go. As a big dreamer, I believe in utilizing all opportunities life presents to the max.I know that all of my goals will remain dreams if I do not take the necessary steps to accomplish them. In that regard, I would like request your support so that I may be able to partake in this sublime experience which would be beneficial to my pathway of making these dreams a reality.
