My Travel Story

In early April 2019, I will be travelling with the organisation, African Adventures, to a school in the Volta region of Ghana to help in the classroom and with some building work. To be able to have this incredible experience, I will have to raise £1900, which I have made a successful start on but I still have a long way to go!

Ghana is a vibrant, beautiful country with friendly people, stunning landscapes and unspoilt beaches. In the rural Volta region, the main industries are agriculture and fishing, and many children work with their parents to bring in income instead of receiving an education. Along with my fellow pupils from Cirencester Deer Park School, I will be working at a local school to improve its facilities and through teaching, to encourage more children to go to school from an early age.

The school I will be working at is severely underfunded. In some classrooms, there are not enough desks for the number of students, meaning that children must take lessons sat on the floor. There is also a significant lack of teaching resources including text books. The school is in desperate need of funding and volunteer support - and this is where I hope you will be able to help me.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to make a difference in Ghana. I want to be able to help other children to enjoy their education and to have access to decent facilities at school as well as a chance to improve their lives.

Please help me to achieve this, by donating to my cause!
