In order to graduate, Carroll University requires its Undergrad students to partake in some form of cross-cultural experience. I could not think of any better way to get credit towards graduation and also help a poverty stricken village with the main source of income than going to Bali to better the environment. In Les Village I will be snorkeling every day while attempting to rebuild the coral reef system in that area. Throughout my stay in Bali, I will be learning about sea salt processing, aiding the locals with the coral reef restoration, teaching english, and even releasing fisherman market sea turtles back into the ocean. I hope to learn much about the Hindu area, while also making a positive change to the environment. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to go somewhere and make a difference while also learning about another culture that I may never have the chance to do again. I am hopeful that I will be able to go to Bali come summer 2018 and make a difference.
