My Travel Story

This trip is with the Art of the Athlete program that the Univeristy of Oregon does to encourage student athletes to channel their creativity and energy into art production. I will be going on this trip as a mentor to the other students. Currently, I am in my last term of my undergraduate degree at the Univeristy of Oregon studying art history. I will be graduating in three years -- one whole year in advance!

My career goals are to become a curator at a prestigious musem. I currently work at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and have just finished curating my first exhibition! It will be opening May 16th and is titled Common Thread. The exhibition is about the common experience of using clothing to represent one's identity but also having different styles to represent the variety in one's identity. Although I have checked 'curate your first exhibition' off of my career goals list, I still have a long way to go to reach my ultimate goal!

After graduation, this trip is all I have formally planned. I intend to take a year off of school and continue studying in Fall 2020 for my masters in Art History. I believe that this trip to France to study the art I know so much about is an integral part of my overall path to be successful to studying art history!
