BELIZE-2019 building sustainable homes for orphans
My Travel Story
Hi everyone, and thankyou all very much for taking time to read this. My name is Rebecca and im a 16 year old New Zealander whose travelling to Belize [Central America] in 2019 to help orphans build sustainable homes with volunteering agency Kaya.
Social injustices are a topic I became very passionate about when I went to Thailand on a family holiday a 2 years ago, ever since I have felt a drive to make sustainable differences in people less fortunate and privledged than myself. Though I am young I believe that if you have enough initiative and compassion then you can make a huge change in peoples lives.
The project Im taking part in helps abused or orphaned children create a safe sustainable healthy home with a sense of community as the law dictates that orphaned children must leave the system at the age of 16, the project help the community become finicially independant and preserve local reasources.
Thankyou all so much for reading!!
