Hi! My name is Anissa, and I’m a Speech-Language Pathology student excited to grow both personally and professionally through Therapy Abroad Belize. This 8-day program will allow me to observe licensed SLPs in schools, clinics, and therapeutic camp settings, participate in interactive workshops, and gain hands-on experience in assessment and therapy strategies. By learning directly from professionals and engaging with children and families in underserved communities, I will build foundational skills that will strengthen my future career as an SLP.

I chose Belize because of its rich culture, diverse languages, and unique healthcare and educational systems, which offer an invaluable perspective on how communication disorders are addressed globally. This program is meaningful to me because it combines my passion for speech and language therapy with my desire to make a tangible difference in a community that can greatly benefit from specialized services. Through screenings, therapy sessions, and educational activities, I hope to contribute positively to the lives of children and families while gaining insights that will guide my future practice.
