Mauree Experiencing Nonprofits in India and Sri Lanka
My way of appreciating communities is through service. Stillwater, OSU and Oklahoma have helped me define who I am. The words that describe me, at my very core, are diversity, inclusiveness and learning. I can’t think of any way better to expand on diversity inclusiveness and learning than going on this trip. Being able to visit the Hope Project, and hopefully grow my understanding of nonprofits on a national, and internationally level. We will also be able to visit the Navdanya - which is a woman centered movement for cultural and biological diversity. I would heavily encourage everyone to look up the Hope Project and Navdanya.
Nonprofits have been the largest contributor to the person I am today. I truly believe in every aspect of nonprofits – the good they can do for targeted groups, the stories behind them, and the way they form communities. I am hoping to learn more about international nonprofits and movements so I can bring that knowledge back to the US and expand on how they can accommodate international people seeking resourses, improve how they interact with the targeted populus and build better community involvement.
**The trip in total (course cost, flights, visas) is 5,330. The added amount is what the sight charges for their personal fee.
