The immersed experience we will have in Belize will teach us several self sustaining farm practices that we can directly apply to our homestead vision.  We will be immersed in an ancient culture and will have the secrets of how to create a sustainable environment with the least amount of impact on the natural environment.  We will learn more about building using unconventional materials as well as learning new ways to build that will help the homestead land.  We will learn an aquaponics system and will also learn how to use plants as medicine for ourselves and for the land.  We are passionate about this experience as we have reached a turning point in our lives and need to branch out to learn.  Volunteer experiences are always dear to the both of us as there is no greater life enrichment than when you are working and learning along side a fellow human.  Our skills will be used to help and in turn we will lean new skills and can pass that on to people we know in the US.  We are fund raising $3600.00 for this experience.  We will be driving from New Mexico to Belize.  Although all three locations will give a place to sleep and most meals will be provided we must cover travel expenses and any use of public transportation as well as meals not covered.
