Finally, I got my first PhD paper accepted for an international conference in Urban Studies in London, few days after getting a famous “we are sorry to inform...” for a symposium in Italy. However, I’m still waiting for the results for a fellowship application. Moreover, the exchange rate is really an issue for Brazilians (it’s 5 Brazilian unities for 1 UK unity). As you guys may know, participation in conferences count to make a fellowship application more compeling, therefore, if doctoral students don’t participate in events their curriculum won’t look nice for funding agencies which, by its turn, will make even harder to travel to participate in more conferences, Congress, and so forth. My research will help to make a better world contributing to the creation of funding mechanisms for street artists and to the strengthing of their networks. That’s my hope. I’m Brazilian and I’m doing my PhD in Portugal. My research is about the dialogues between museum workers and street artists in Rio de Janeiro.
