My Travel Story

Hey friends, family, colleagues, and friends I've yet to meet! First I'd like to say that if you have found your way here, know that you are helping a great cause!

I attend the prestigious (yet brutally expensive) Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and have been accepted to an exchange program in Stockholm, Sweden! The applicaion process for the program was really competitive yet I managed to weasel my way in there. Now that I've been accepted to the progam, all that's in my way of spending a semester in Sweden is the cost! If you weren't aware, Sweden is the birthplace of our beloved IKEA.

This will be my second stint in Europe and I plan to take it by storm! The only thing attempting to get in my way is the cost! One (1) Swedish Krona is equal to 0.12 (0.12 ₵)American Dollars. If you've done the math already, you can begin to see how expensive my trip will be.


So, let's get down to the nitty gritty, shall we?:

Things I literally will not be able to live without:
1) Roundtrip Airfare: $700-1200
2)Passport: $100
3)Rent: $350-$615/mo
4)Swedish Transportation Pass: $80
5)Food & Essentials: $120/mo
6) Cell Minutes:$65-80/mo
7)Payment for my car note while away : $320/mo(total of $1600
8) Winter gear: $300 (parka, snow boots, scarves, long johns, etc.)


Here is a brief list of things I plan to accomplish during my semester(August-January) in Europe:


1) Research, document, and experience the historical Moorish presense throughout Europe

2)Visist at LEAST two other European destitations while abroad. Here's a brief bucket list of the cities I'd like to explore:
-Iceland
-Paris
-Ireland
-Amsterdam


3)Put on a collaborative art show in a gallery space TBA

4)Document and experience vegan lifestyle in Europe. I plan to post weekly videos on my travel youtube channel, Jazzy TO and FRO.

5) Camp in the Swedish Lapland and sleep under the Northern Lights!
