My name is Estelle. I am a Junior undergraduate student from Shanghai at Hampshire college. My concentration is molecular biology and Arabic. I was a lab assistant researching the relationship between the organic compound Anthocyanin and cancer. So far, I’ve been taking 2 years of intensive Arabic language, both Modern Standard, and Levantine Dialects. This summer, I will be spending three months testing and researching antibiotics for the Singapore Immunology Network. Following that internship, I will be continuing my scientific research at the University of Jordan, School of science. While I research, I will also be taking a year-long intensive Arabic through the CET language program to improve my language skill, particularly regarding scientific terminology. My goal is to facilitate the communication between two perspectives: molecular biology and public health. I really want to bridge the gap between culture and science in Jordan. I will really appreciate your support to help me to achieve this goal.
