My Travel Story

Hey!

My names Dan, I'm 22 & if you're reading this then i already love you!
some people are interested material things, I just want to see the world, meet new people, learn new cultures, volunteer to help those less fortunate & just live life.

Before I start, can i just say, I'll appreciate your help more than you know & love you all so much! ALSO, I'm going to both write about & video my journey so you can see what you made happen & how much it means & just follow it all! :D

I'll start with the low down followed by my story :)

My goal is to start in Australia, with a working visa to kick off my trip. From there, I want to go on to continue travelling the world on little or no money, volunteering, working for accommodation & food, couchsurfing & hitchhiking.
The reason for my funding request on here is that when you get a working visa for Australia, you have to have £2,400 just to be allowed into the country + flights. The rest of the trip isnt a problem as I'll be doing te whole thing low/no budget, but to kick the whole thing off, I'd need that starting fund.
My work only just covers bills and so doesnt allow for saving. That and i dont want to spend my entire life saving just to realise its too late.

The story

I never knew what I wanted and I never had a set plan and so I spent 6 years working in retail.
This was until a friend let me tag along on a road trip through France, Belgium, Holland & Luxemburg.. It was then I realised that all I want is to see the world. I think I liked the idea before then but once I took that short trip, my views on everything changed & maybe I caught the travel bug a little :P

I started looking into travel and I saw videos & heard stories of peoples travels, how much fun it can be, how rewarding volunteering can be and how much there is to do & see.

Since then, I cant stop thinking about it all. I believe life is to be lived..so why not travel, help people, love & enjoy the journey!
'We travel, not to escape life, but for life not to escape us' I believe theres so much truth in that.
