My Travel Story

Hi! First, I want to thank you for taking the time to visit this page, your interest and support mean the world to me. Let me tell you a bit about this project and my reason for travel.

Through the past 6 years, as I navigated through my Bachelors and Masters degrees, my core mission has been to obtain the education I believe I will need to most effectively impact women in developing communities and encourage gender equality and mobility. To further advance my goals, in January 2017 I will be combining my passion for women's rights with travel as I embark on what I believe will be my defining journey to Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.

I plan to travel through each country, living and working in local communities in order to best absorb and understand the cultures and beliefs of the people, especially as it relates to the role of women and the freedoms they may or may not have access to. My journey is borne entirely out of my heart and I will be supporting myself entirely throughout the year, therefore it is important that I fundraise as much before departure so I can have the resources needed to sustain myself, my research, and the impact I hope to have.

After my travels, I will apply my findings to the work I hope to accomplish within women's international rights, either with a pre-existing organization or one of my own creation. I would be eternally grateful to any contributions you are able to make and promise to keep you updated throughout 2017 by way of a website (still in the works but it will be launched before January!). Please bear in mind that the costs mentioned are for the entire year and I do plan on working locally throughout the year to reduce lodging costs.
