My Summer in Spain!
First, it's a city that I briefly visited three years ago and absolutely fell in love with. It was a city that inspired me and made me want to create art. I have wanted to go back ever since! Second, I want to learn more about Spanish theater and expand my knowledge of theater in a global sense. As an artist, it's really important to me to explore different cultures and have them be represented appropriately. Because of this, I wanted to learn in a culture that is different than my own. Third, which I have already said, is Spanish. I want to continue with my immersion in a Spanish speaking community upon finishing this semester in Buenos Aires. Along with interning in Spain, I get the chance to live with a family and get further lessons in Spanish while I am abroad!
Art should not be limited by the lines we have created between each other. I believe that art supercedes separations or similarities and can connect people. I can't wait to continue exploring theater and art from a different point of view!
