Help an aspiring youth to attend Jagriti Yatra 2017!
The healthcare industry in my country is in the hands of master looters now. A pain killer tablet “Aceclofenac” is sold at 4/- per tablet by the greedy corporate pharma giants whereas the same “Aceclofenac” is sold at 0.35/- by the generic manufacturers. Did you observe the 11x price difference? When it is the same medicine, why is it sold at 11x price difference? The answer is very simple, the greedy pharma companies. There are millions of pharma retail outlets that sell “Aceclofenac” at 4/- pain killers while there are only 2000 pharma retail outlets across India that sell at 0.35/-. I strongly believe that as a responsible citizen of this country I have to bring the awareness and make medicines affordable for the poor sections of our great country.
Coming to the education sector in India, we see millions of young students coming out of engineering colleges with dreams to conquer the world. But, sadly only 20% of these graduates are employable. Others are settling with odd jobs. Who is at fault? Students?Colleges? Parents? No, not anybody of them. It’s the fault with our Education pedagogy. The Education methodology, pedagogy and curriculum needs massive changes to make our youth equipped with employable skills. I aspire to design a school curriculum with a unique teaching pedagogy that infuses high technical and managerial thinking approach since their early school age & make every student employable by the time they graduate.
Choosing an unconventional path and working towards a social cause from an early stage is always challenging and that has been my primary motivation. The question now is, Am I really capable to work towards these causes? What skills do I need and how do I gain those skills? Here, I’d like to recollect my beloved Professor Y.Prabhakar’s words “To achieve great heights, 3 things are essential. First is courage to do hard work and rise to the occasion. Second is determination with Never Give up attitude. Third is confidence.” I have developed all these qualities and I’m sure I can give my best towards working for these causes. In pursuit of this challenging journey, I will be able to successful only when I find some likeminded potential leaders who share a similar dream for the movement against education inequality and strive towards the vision of ”Skill Education to All” & “Affordable Healthcare to all”. I now have an opportunity to meet likeminded people to learn, share and work together towards a great transformation in Education & Healthcare through Jagriti Yatra 2017.
Jagriti Yatra is a 15-day long, national train journey across 12 destinations with 500 other Yatris that will take me 8000 kilometers across the length and breadth of India, to understand and build the India of smaller towns and villages through enterprise. I will meet role models, change-makers, leaders that started out on a journey just like me – and made a difference to thousands of lives. I will forge bonds with like-minded young leaders - my co-Yatris and complete strangers. They will become my closest friends and comrades for life. I will be exposed to role models who are building India through enterprise; through them I will find inspiration to undertake building my own journey through entrepreneurship. The Yatra seems to be my way of understanding our country and its people. The change bring-er inside fascinates me to know how people around the country are doing incredible things and having substantial impact in the lives of others. I feel it will enable me to learn so much from each of them and carve out plans for my initiatives to spread smiles across millions of people.
Jagriti Yatra is such a wonderful program that I cannot afford to miss the opportunity. I’m one among the 400 candidates that were selected through an applicant pool of 25,000. During my college and work, one of the things that I have learned is that the power of human potential is way beyond imagination. It is only when people with similar mindsets come together that wonders can be created. It can be one person's idea but you require a team to bring that dream into reality. I have received some Sponsorship from the Jagriti team where i should still pay 60,000/- to attend the Yatra. I also strongly believe that economical situation shouldn’t hold back an aspiring young man like me from experiencing a great learning that can nurture and shape my thoughts towards working for a great cause. And I believe that people like you will empower me to achieve my dream to go on the Jagriti Yatra by generously helping me to cover the Yatra Fees & costs. It would be great if you can help me with as much as you can support me to attend the Yatra.
