My Travel Story

by: Katherine McKenna Start Date: Jan 19, 2018 - End Date: May 18, 2018
I am studying to become an aerospace engineer and wish to do a mini-semester abroad. I hope to gain dynamic  exposure to the various aspects of my field as well as other engineering fields in order to discover what I am most passionate about and what career I want to pursue post college. I believe studying abroad would be the perfect way to reexplore myself. I also feel going to another country allows one to experience different cultures and therefore develop a better sense of understanding and appreciation for individuals of that culture and others of various backgrounds. This understanding I feel is extremely important, especially today. Croatia is a wonderful location to visit for cultural exposure because its geographical location acts as bridge between Eastern and Western Europe. This allows for immersion into multiple cultures and is an opportunity to witness the coexistence of differing cultures. The course I have chosen to enroll in would also allow me to learn more about engineering fields other than my own. Having such knowledge would be beneficial in my career because it would help me to better collaborate with other engineers since I would have some understanding of their field.
Any help that can be given I would greatly appriciate!
