My Travel Story
My name is Maddie, I am a sophmore at the University of Kansas and I am a Pre-Business major. Growing up I was always extremely interested about different cultures and history which has been a big factor in the decision I made to study abroad. I am a first generation college student who comes from a lower-middle class family who does not have the financial ability to support my wanderlust, so I felt it was my responsibility to take every opportunity to raise money and be able to fully support myself on my quest to travel the world. Other than being a history buff, I am also thouroughly interested in international relations and business, and hope to go into a marketing, finance, or accounting track. The countries that I would visit on this three week trip all have an interesting economy, are hubs for business and trade, and could give me a great international experience that is so important to have in the business world. I believe that no matter where you come from or what salary you make, you should have the opportunity to explore and see the world through a different lense. By traveling to different countries and emmersing yourself into a world that is so different than your own, you grow not only academically, but all around as a human being. I am so excited to start this journey, and hope that through the kindess and generoisity of others, I will be able to partake in this experience with less of a financial burden.
