Student Exchange Programme to Poland, Warsaw
My name is Yan Jiao! I am a student from Singapore Management University who will be embarking on my first long overseas trip in Sep for exchange!
I come from a low-income family. Both my parents are working to support the family. Before I applied for exchange, I was having a lot of reservations due to financial issues, as I am currently under the tuition fees loan and prior to my graduation, I will have to repay the hefty loan. After much consideration, I realised that this is a lifetime opportunity. Even if I have the money to travel again next time, the experience would not be the same. So I have chosen Poland and I was lucky enough to be chosen for the programme.
With financial constraints, I believe that Poland would be the most affordable amongst all the choices given. Moreover, it is also rich in history and I really enjoy exploring the history of different countries. With the chance of being in a foreign land, it would provide me a practical chance for me to adapt and obtain knowledge of another language and culture. Being one who is quite conservative and shy, making the decision to embark in an overseas exchange was a tough decision.
Additionally, I will be away from home for the longest time. Hence, this programme would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for me in terms of self-development and it will allow me to get out of my comfort zone, enhance my self-confidence and also increase my self-esteem. Most importantly, it will broaden my knowledge and enrich my horizons.
I am a great fan of baking, but recently i feel that i have ran out of passion on it. I hope this trip allows me to discover and enlighten me with new things and adventures!
Please fund my airticket for me to embark on this trip by donating! Your kind donations are truly appreciated! Even a few dollars will make a difference in my life. I will definitely return to the society when i off the debt! Thank you!
