Please send me to TENACIOUS D in L.A.
I like to bury my head in books and graphic novels, I am moved by more than just one style of music, I enjoy going to quiznights with friends, bingewatching series and movies with my girlfriend Nora, I focus more on studying than partying, I visit my dad in Texas whenever I can and I have an innate love for travelling. I also live on a scholarship as a fulltime student, yet I like to pay it forward whenever possible (UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders).
Right now I am on exchange for the fall semester in La Paz Bolivia, away from home and my girlfriend for 3-4 months, which is a long ways away and a long time to wait. Out of all the places I could travel, I have chosen Los Angeles for two reasons: I have always wanted to experience visiting California, ever since I was a young teenager; and the worlds greatest duo Tenacious D, of whom I am a huge fan and of whom I have never gotten to see live, is hosting the Festival Supreme on the 29th of October along with all of my other favourite people (Flight of the Conchords, Weird al Yankovic, Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman).
There are several reasons why this means so much to me. My girlfriend will be visiting her family during that time, whom likes to keep her to themselves since they barely see her away from her psychology studies; for that reason too I cannot take her with me from Norway; tickets home TO Norway are twice as much and take 30-40 hours of travelling; tickets home to the DFW area in Texas to see my dad are also twice as much; and on our 2 weeks off from school I feel I should explore a bit, whereas Bolivia is more than enough South America for me. They also have reasonably priced youth hostels in the surrounding L.A. area. That being said, this would keep my mind busy and be the perfect break where I can catch a breath between studies and going home to see my family and girlfriend.
So I please ask you to help me with my travel budget, any amount no matter how small I am deeply grateful for, and to help me get two birds with one stone; experiencing Cali and seeing the worlds greatest band. I will be eternally grateful. Please send me to the D!
