Hi all, I am an 18 year old student currently on a gap year. This April, I am hoping to leave for a once in a lifetime adventure, travelling around Latin America. I'll be living and working in various countries within Latin America for 10 weeks, contributing to both local communities and environmental conservation. I will be spending time teaching English at a school in Honduras, which aims to help the most disadvantaged children. I will be assisting in classes, leading my own, helping with after school activities/classes, and various other duties around the school. In Costa Rica I will be taking part in a big cats, turtles and primate conservation project. I will either be travelling to a remote coastal forest camp in Costa Rica, where I'll be participating in hands-on turtle conservation, or I'll be surveying monkeys and other exotic jungle animals. This opportunity will not only allow me to travel and experience life in a different part of the world but also allow me to gain a new perspective by volunteering in struggling communities and return home with a new outlook on life. I hope to change lives for the better and feel as if I have made a real difference to those that are not as fortunate as me.
