I will be doing a volunteering placement with SLV global, who run volunteer projects in Sri Lanka, Bali and India to give the local communities and those struggling with mental health issues access to mental health care, English tuition and a range of confidence building activities. 
During my time in Bali my respobsibilities will include running sessions in one of Indonesia's inpatient psychiatric facilities, planning and carrying out English lessons and working with people with specific needs. There will also be weekly workshops, which focus on alternative treatments for individuals with mental health issues. This will be hugely beneficial to both me and the local community; the community will receive the workshops and I will have the opportunity to learn about non-Western approaches to mental health care. This will deepen my understanding of mental health and develop my capabilitity to work with international client groups in the future.
