My Travel Story
I've decided that I wanted to start a fundraising account for expenses and program fees for volunteering/teaching abroad next year. Amongst other forms of saving, and earning from working my normal Jobs, I thought that maybe it would be a productive way for friends and family to help support me along this journey!
This sprouted interest in volunteering abroad stemmed off from a lot of thoughts and feelings I've currently been experiencing in my life for a few months now. I've never really known what I wanted to do in life. Besides a hundred hobbies, I've rooted up my core morals and values and have visualized something that has become who I am today--and that's helping others. I've always had a big heart, eager to offer my assistance and support whenever I could. Despite my times of selfishness & youthly actions- this has remained true under it all. If not more as I stand today. My experiences, and my independence as an individual, my ups & my downs, have all led me to a moment of solitude to process my next steps in life.
I'm going to express myself on this for a moment--
I'm tired of being a city girl. I'm done working selfishly, and I'm done working for money. Materialism has slapped me in the face, and I'm waking up now. From a deep sleep that we all sleep, and sometimes some of us will never wake up. But y head is clear, and I'm ready to get my hands dirty. I'm ready to help people. I'm ready for butterflies in my stomach, and I'm ready to be brave and face passion. I'm put on this earth to help it, not destroy it. I've knows this since I was little. I'm not your picture perfect plain Jane-I'm a back sheep who has been pushing boundaries her whole life. But now as the strong and sure person that I've become, I'm ready to take advantage of my ambition and use it in a beautiful way. I want to see the world in the eyes of locals. I'd trade places with them if I could. Just to grasp the perspective of life in the gratefulness they express through their culture daily.
Humbly, I'm ready to get my hands dirty.
Don't worry--ill be continuing to working my butt off to add to this goal. I've never been one to ask for much, or to ask for money specifically--but I decided to swallow that pride in my independence, and put my stubborn demean aside. I'm taking this opportunity in my life to provide maybe just a moment for another
