Arsène from Kigali, Rwanda has just graduated from high school and is aspiring to become a leader for his family and his community.
Arsène is not just an ordinary school graduate waiting to enrol for an advanced course in order to become an engineer. He has been combining his studies with taking care of his single mother who has had mental illness for a few years.

Despite of his personal and family challenges, Arsène spends a few hours volunteering in his neibourhoods supporting families, widows and orphans whith similar challenges as his. During school holidays, if he was not  busy with doing chores at home or looking after his mum, he would be debating social issues at a local debate club, Idebate Rwanda, a youth led project. Arsene is aspiring to become a leader.

In December 2016, He had an opportunity to participate in the Global Youth Peace Summit in Kenya ( organised by Amala Foundation). This leadership program for youth going through social challenges has energised my cousin and decided to expand his social care beyond his own family. This year, the Global Youth Peace Summit is talking place in California, USA on 8-14 June and it is an opportunity for Arsène to consolidate his personal growth while learning to better serve his community, especially those with disabilities.

The money raised will all go to his trip to the summit and if there is any left, it ill be used as stipend to the volunteer who will be staying with his mum who has mental illness.
