My Travel Story

by: Jeffrey Ruth Start Date: Aug 29, 2017 - End Date: Feb 24, 2018
This is the first adventure of the HoboToNobo Project. I have long been interested in exploring the parts of Western society that exist "outside the norm." This resulted in my first book, and now has me well on the way to my next. The current exploration takes me, my readers, and my followers to the Appalachian Trail where I will thru hike beginning in February 2018. Come explore with me on www.trailjournals.com/HoboToNobo

  • Stealth Camping

    Stealth camping
Stealth camping is a long distance hiker term; I'll share many of those as the project goes on. This also goes a long way to showing how much my life right now overlaps with the adventure we'll share on the AT. On the trail stealth camping is pitching a tent where it's not allowed to avoid having to pay a shelter fee. In my area (Livingston County, MI) stealth camping is pitching a tent where it's not allowed to avoid prying eyes when between authorized campgrounds. It's also great practice to establish camp in the dark!
