Vanessa's Study Abroad Adventures in Greece and Italy!
I am enthusiastic to share with you that I have been accepted into my school’s study abroad program for the humanities course taking place in Greece and Italy for summer 2018! Traveling has always been on my bucket list, and now that I am given this wonderful opportunity, I am determined to do it. Studying abroad has been one of my goals as I began my studies in college because it is an opportunity that will expand on both of my passions for culture and people’s behavior. Currently, I am a psychology major, which is why I find learning how people think and the factors that influence their thoughts and actions to be some of the most alluring areas of the field. Through study abroad, I will have the chance to become a more open-minded and accepting individual. Soon, I will be able to familiarize myself with the customs, traditions, taboos, stereotypes, language, cuisine, and religion from other countries, as the course itself explores all these topics throughout the trip. I also think that it is important to be aware of this wonderful diversity and the factors that shape natives' perspectives of others and their home. As of now, I am attempting to save as much money as I can for this trip, but I would be beyond thankful and appreciative for any donations anyone can offer, for I know that this experience will be rewarding in numerous ways.
