Hello family and friends,

As many of you know, I love history and have always wanted to study abroad. Traveling to Italy has been a dream of mine since I was in the 6th grade. This upcoming summer (summer '17), I will be traveling to Florence to study history and Italian art and culture. It will be a 4 week experience (May 31- June 30). Those 4 weeks will be my "study weeks." I plan to stay and spend and extra week or two exploring Europe while I'm over there.  I would like to cover Greece, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, etc. I know that going to all of these countries is impossible in that short of a time so I will have to pick and choose. I want to be able to soak up as much culture and travel as possible!

Here is a brief program description: "The Florence Program is sponsored by the University Scholars Program and is carried out in cooperation with the Lorenzo de’ Medici institute. Nestled in the fabled landscape of Tuscany, where art, architecture, food and history blend easily together in a romantic and sun-drenched city, Florence is a must for the adventurous student. Stroll along the banks of the Arno River, make your way through the shops nestled along the famed Ponte Vecchio bridge, spend a leisurely afternoon in the Boboli Gardens, drop in for a coffee or a snack at your favorite street-side cafe or enjoy incredible multi-course Italian meals, and, of course, absorb the abundance of artistic wealth found throughout the city’s museums, palazzi, and churches as you walk the streets once wandered by Michelangelo, Boccaccio, Galileo, and the Medici. Field trips to Venice, Sorrento, Siena, Lucca, and Pisa are included."

To make this dream of mine a reality, I need financial help. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated! I thank you all for taking the time to read my bio and considering helping me with my upcoming adventure!
