From Selling fatcakes to a Masters at Kent :Help me cross the finish line.

Hi everyone!
My name is Felicity Mokgosi, a young dreamer born and raised in a small village in Botswana. I am writing to humbly request your financial assistance to help me pursue my Master’s degree at the University of Kent in the United Kingdom.
My journey has always been fueled by resilience, faith, and an unshakeable belief in education. Raised by a single mother and grandmother, both illiterate but overflowing with grit. I watched my mom hustle to raise five kids with almost nothing. She turned to entrepreneurship, cooking and selling magwinya (fatcakes/fried dough) and eventually taught me the trade. I sold fatcakes outside a village store from a scrubbed-clean white paint bucket I remember to this day. What started as embarrassment quickly turned into pride as customers kept coming back. That white bucket became my first module in entrepreneurship and I excelled at it.

Through God's grace and my mother's sacrifices, I became the first and the only child in my family to attend university, selecting Business as my field of study without hesitation. After graduation, unemployment did not spare me. I supported myself through small business ventures and volunteer initiatives, proving that determination and creativity can overcome any obstacle.

Beyond personal survival, I have sought platforms that helped validate and strengthen my entrepreneurial vision. I was selected for the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture’s Futuremakers program, chosen for The Next Step Initiative bootcamp by the American Embassy, and became an alumna of the Mosadikhumo Female Founder Initiative. These opportunities affirmed my commitment to entrepreneurship, leadership, and empowering others. Moreover, I have also dedicated time to volunteerism. Including serving on the committee of Botswana Youth in Tourism, an NGO committed to reviving Botswana’s tourism sector. My role taught me the importance of service, teamwork, and contributing to national development.

Today, I am proud to have received an offer to study at the University of Kent, where the Director of my faculty personally congratulated me on my inspiring application.. Unfortunately, the financial demands of tuition, accommodation, and travel exceed my current means. That is why I am reaching out to compassionate individuals and organizations to request financial assistance toward my studies. Help me raise atleast £ 25,000 for my tuition.

Your contribution will be life changing, as it won't benefit me alone but it's an investment in the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders in Botswana.I am committed to using the knowledge and global exposure from this program to create sustainable businesses, generate employment, and empower women and youth in my community.
As a young woman in Botswana, I’ve seen firsthand how financial dependence traps women in abusive situations. This is why my long-term mission is to build entrepreneurship programs that help women gain economic freedom.

I would be truly honored to have your financial support,no amount is too small to make a difference. I am happy to provide any supporting documents, including my university admission letter and detailed budget.

Thank you for your generosity.
