Dr. Fang at your service!

Helllooo! Thank you for visiting my fundraiser. My name is Lee-Ashlie Fang and I have been blessed with the opportunity to volunteer in Mombasa, Kenya through International Medical Aid as an intern for 4 weeks during January 2022!

I currently attend New York University as a sophomore majoring in global public health (GPH) and Biology on the pre-med track. Choosing my major was easy, health. After taking a few GPH classes, my third class piqued my interest in public health. I learned about the importance of a health system and how it affects the population of a country. Many people across the world lack health services and/or unaware of where to find them. As an upcoming doctor, I plan to provide as much aid as I can and give back to the world.

IMA is my first step in that process. I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn and practice medicine in a different cultural setting. During my trip, I will be shadowing licensed physicians and surgeons in the second largest hospital in the country, while learning the native culture! I will be able to expand my knowledge by learning and practicing different techniques from different specialists and provide aid for those in need in a fast-paced hospital setting. The experiences and connections made will be cherishable. I am so excited about the new experiences and connections I will make on this trip. KENYA, SEE YOU SOON!

Thank you for your time and consideration!
