My Travel Story

by: Shelley Forrest Start Date: Mar 16, 2018 - End Date: Jul 15, 2018
I visited Thailand in January 2017 after a terrible year previously with health issues, work issues and a relationship break down. It was a tough year and I had always wanted to visit Thailand so I booked tickets and went by myself.

It was the most beautiful place I have seen, the people are amazing and as I was on my own and I am inquisitive I learnt that many Thai students and adults visit London for one year to learn basic English and they wish they could expand it.

I am a natural educator, my son is leaving for university and I want to help in the world and make a difference. I want to teach in schools in the day and offer free lessons in the evenings for adults. I am excellent at maths and would incorporate this if required. I work full time in Finance but as a single proud mum, I just do not have the funds.

I will find them or earn the money with a second job, but I would love to go this year. My health is questionable and I feel I have limited time, it is something I am determined to do, I am going to do good, I am naturally kind, but I am strong and persistent. I have volunteered in a junior school for two years with reading and writing whilst my son was in school, I just could not afford to not work to attend university. I am independent and would pay any money used to travel back into the community however I am able. Any help would be greatly appreciated I will keep any donators informed with pictures and updates.
