Hii I'm a Dutch student and next summer I'll be going to Sri Lanka to take part in their Mental Health programm wherein I would help those struggling with mental health issues and special needs, as well as teach young children English.

Slv.Global is an organisation that provides Psychology students gain valuable field experience whilst helping the people of Sri Lanka overcome some of the devestations of the past. The communitie is still recovering from the tsunami in 2004 and the civil war. The island is also seriously lacking support facilities, disorders like depression and substance abuse are rising.

I'm really excited to take part in this programm, I'm a psychobiology student not a psychology student, which means that my education is preparing me for science, not as much the social aspect in which I'm also interested in. This experience will give me what I'm missing from my cource as well as give me the opportunity to decide if taking a few psychology classes would be something i would be interested. I'll be going for 5 weeks in which I'll be trained to give support where I'm needed as well as teach English a few days a week.

For more information about what I'll be doing those 5 weeks, see the link below!

Any donation would be greatly appreciated as I can't finance it all by myself <3
Thank you for taking the time to check this page out!

Kind regards,
Silke Jansma
