My Travel Story

Hi! My name is Amanda Maisel, and I am a high school senior about to head to college at Texas A&M University! I have been chosen to travel to Italy and Greece for a Photography Workshop with National Geographic Student Expeditions! On this trip, my peers and I will learn from professional photographer Massimo Bassano as we travel to places such as Pompeii, Capri, Athens, Rome, & more!

I've always loved going on adventures. If I had the chance to go on a random trip, I would do it in a heartbeat, whether the destination is 5 miles, or 5,000 miles away. Through Photography and Blogging, I am able to express my passion for traveling and my deep interest in the diverse cultures around the world. As an experienced traveler, I am excited about the opportunity to travel with people my age to places I’ve never been before… Seeing the world and experiencing unique cultures and learning history about new places is what I love to do the most. My creativity mixed with my inquisitive nature inspire me to conquer new adventures and seek opportunities to grow my photography skills as well as my knowledge. My unique eye for color and movement in capturing landscape as well as people is what motivates me to continue to expand my knowledge and is something that I can contribute to others on the trip.

I am very excited to learn from Massimo Bassano and will value the opportunity to study under him and learn from his experience and expertise. Traveling to new places to capture the timeless beauty of Italy and Greece myself is an opportunity like no other. I am beyond thrilled for the greatest 17 day adventure of my life!
