Hello there!

I'm Bianca, a student, and this summer I’m working and saving extra hard so Talbott and I can visit my family and schools in Poland. This summer is a big one for me since I’ve gotten my Polish Citizenship and can start looking at Universities I’d like to attend as a “in country” citizen. Getting back to my roots, and connecting with family from across the pond is very important to me as well. Not only that, there is a small city in Northern Poland that is looking for volunteers to teach English to the students, and as some of you may know, teaching English as a second language is actually my major, and the opportunity for me is really good so I’d like to check out that city and do what I can!

Now, why is Talbott involved on this trip?
For starters, I need someone to visit the cities with (let’s be honest, travelling alone is kind of scary) but it’s also my grandparents 50th Anniversary, and my cousins wedding this summer! I think it’s a really good chance for someone to get immersed in Eastern Europe culture! He will also be coming with me to the school, since teaching is his major as well, so he'll also have the chance to learn some Polish from the students as well get the hands on experience of being a teacher! I don’t think that many people have the opportunity for something like this to happen during their young adult years, and we’d like to seize it.

How much do we need for this trip?

A plane ticket to Europe is about $1400 right about now, but we also need the money for transportation (trains and buses), and food. I'd also love to show Talbott the historic monuments, churches and museums that Poland has to offer. I have the living situation already sorted out, so I’m not worried about that.

Don’t you two have jobs?

We do! And we’re planning on saving 98% of our money for this trip, but realistically, with how many hours we work and how much we get paid, between us two, we might make it halfway even if we had second jobs.

When is the trip planned?

Because we want to visit my grandparents, the wedding, the school and still have time to visit schools in Krakow and Wasraw, we'd be leaving around July 21- August 23 (whichever day of the week the tickets are less!)

What’s in it for me if I donate?

You’ll feel good after your random-act-of-kindness, and you’ll get a postcard from a city in Poland. Yippee! also many virtual hugs and kisses. ♫
