Jenni Shaw

About Me

My name is Jenni Shaw, and I am a college student seeking a bachelor's degree in International Studies with a minor in Religious Studies. I enjoy spending time with my family, singing, photography, musical theatre, reading, and watching movies. I am also a member of a co-ed service fraternity called Alpha Phi Omega that prides itself on upholding the ideals of leadership, friendship, and service. My plan after I graduate is to work with missions in some way. I don't know what God's plan for me is yet as for what kind of mission work I will be doing, but I'm eager to find out! I have had a couple of previous international experiences that have impacted my life in tremendous ways. In 2008, I went to the Dominican Republic with a group of people from my church to teach Vacation Bible School as well as help build classrooms at Compassion International. In 2014, I went to Asia with 6 other people for 2 and a half weeks to help teach English and be a counselor at a summer camp. During both of these trips, I was able to assist people in ways that they needed while connecting with them, building relationships, and showing them God's love. Now, in these next few months, I have two more opportunities to go abroad. The first opportunity is to help people improve their conversational English while sharing the Christian worldview with them in Bangkok, Thailand. The second is the opportunity to study abroad for a semester (Spring 2016) in Lancaster, England.
