About Me

After being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in my early twenties, my focus was forced to shift from my studies to my health. As I learned to cope with the illness and manage my symptoms, I was able to return to work, begin a relationship, and start thinking about my future. I got a great job working for incredibly supportive bosses, my relationship turned into a marriage, and I was the mastermind behind my Alice in Wonderland wedding. It was challenging, it took over a year of planning, it took teamwork, and it required focus to pursue a goal and manifest my vision. Most importantly, it proved to me that I was ready for school. After taking care of some previous student debt, applications, and paperwork, I enrolled at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I am now one summer class away from graduation and one study abroad program away from fulfilling my dream. This is the first time UTSA has offered a program in France and it is my last opportunity to participate in it for credit and to receive financial aid for it. I have already been accepted and am just working on supplementing what UTSA, my family, and my husband and myself have already committed to contributing. If I do not have to take out a loan, I will graduate 100% loan-free!
