My Travel Story

The Rotaract Club at Sonoma State University is planning an “Alternative Spring Break” course which will take place on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas. There, a team of 12 students and 2 supervisors will identify the needs of the people on this island. The purpose of this trip is to provide service wherever it's needed through various projects that the club members generate and implement. Two years ago, a team of business students who participated in this course were able to draft and impliment a business plan which took mulch and turned it into revenue for the local fire department.
Last year, we weren't able to go due to lack of funding. Not enough participants would go based on the high cost of travel expenses. We tried to lower the price by putting on fundraisers, bake sales, dine and donates, raffles, etc, but the cost per person still exceeded what students were willing to pay. That is why we are enlisting your help! Send SSU's Rotaract Club to the island of Eleuthera so we can get to work!
