My Travel Story

by: Nicole Dean and Rabia Butt Start Date: Nov 24, 2015 - End Date: Mar 22, 2016
Bali is one of many developing countries in Asia which is lacking in many recourses and privileges which we take for granted.  Two of the most prominent disadvantages they have over our country include the limited education and inadequate health care available to children. This can lead to stunted development and poor quality of life.

Having had the chance to meet several people who have lived in a similar area’s as Ubud, who do not receive the same privileges that many of us struggle to appreciate, we were inspired to explore and see firsthand how people face day to day life in a developing country.

In July this year, we are hoping to travel to Bali as volunteers and help teach and develop these children's basic English Language and Health Care skills. Our aim is to improve their ability to communicate and look after themselves, giving them more opportunities to flourish in this environment and allowing them the chance control their own futures. This would also be an amazing opportunity for us to develop our skills and explore their way of life.

Bali's demand for English speakers is increasing with the rapidly expanding tourism. As a soon to be fully qualified primary teacher, one of us would be teaching the children vital and appropriate communication skills needed to get a job.

Also, one of us being a physiotherapy student will be giving out vital health care advice and education to the children, which will hopefully have a positive impact on their future wellbeing and provide them with the skills to take charge own personal care.

Please, please, please help us reach our goal by donating to our cause! Any money you can give would be largely appreciated.

Thank you.
