Business Law in Edinburgh, Scotland is a UT faculty-led program that fulfills degree credits abroad.  This program allows me to not only experience a UT course abroad, but also allows me to take a class at the prestigeous University of Edinburgh.  Business Law and Ethics (LEB credit) will be taught by UT-McCombs faculty, and Law of the European Union (IB credit) will be taught by University of Edinburgh faculty.  The program will arrange weekend excursions to indulge us into Scotland's culture and to have us professionally active through company visits.

About Me:

I am a first-generation 2nd year student at The University of Texas at Austin - Red McCombs School of Business pursuing a Bachelors in Business Administration - Management Information Systems and the Elements of Computing Certificate (Computer Science Minor Equivalent). I am still figuring what my dream job is, but I have high interests in education, technology, and the nonprofit industry.

Originally, I am from a small town called Roma, Texas which is a part of "el Valle".  I've been raised in between Mexico and the U.S., which allowed me to experience both cultures in a unique way.  Just recently, my family went through some harsh times, and my mother is the only person assisting me and my 4 siblings financially.  This struggle has taught me how to properly value life and is pushing me even further to excel at everything I do.

I feel that the journey to study abroad is essential in everyone's college career, because it allows students to expand their minds out of American normalities.  It allows students to experience cultures along with other students that are just as curious to learn and become more worldlier.  PLUS, it is a marketable component to any resumé, and from what I have heard, it gets people JOBS!
