My Travel Story

Hiya, everyone! I'm sure most of you already know me since you've made it to my Fund My Travel page, but allow me to introduce myself:

My name is Sydney Adamson and I am a junior at Towson University in Maryland currently studying general design and journalism. I originally embarked on my college career as a pre-graphic design major, but since taking several journalism classes, working for Towson’s independent student newspaper The Towerlight, and working on my blog, I have really fallen in love with journalism. So, I’ve since decided to double major in general design and journalism. Post college, I plan to combine my majors to make a unique set of skills that will allow me to create enticing multimedia stories. Eventually, I hope to delve into the world of entertainment journalism to write about my long time love, music.

This fall I will be taking my studies abroad to Richmond University in London, England. I'm very excited to experience all that the big, hectic, cultural city of London has to offer me. I will be studying from September 1st until December 13th. I will be taking classes in both art and journalism to continue to work on my double major.

If you’re interested in what exactly your money will be invested in, I plan on using social networking (my Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts, which I’ll link somewhere on here…) to post pictures and details on all of my travels. I will also use my blog, POPSyd, to go into more extensive details on what I get up to on a weekly basis in good ‘ol Londontown.

Now I promise it’s not my intention to be whiney, and I know that I’m not much different than any other college student. But my education is already difficult enough for my parents and I (hi mom and dad, if you’re readin’ this!) to pay for so I’m asking for your help to pay for my study abroad experience.

And when I say experience, I mean experience. Your donations won’t just go towards my education, but also all the little things I will get to experience while in London - like city living, the Underground, fish and chips, tea and crumpets as well as a myriad of other worthwhile experiences. And, OK, I’m not going to lie I’ll probably be buying a pint or two while I’m over there as well.

Any little bit of money helps. I thought the minimum donation was $1, but it's actually $10. So if you're up for donating that much I would really, really super duper appreciate it.
