My Travel Story

Being able to attain a college experience abroad will be a prodigious opportunity for me. I will be able to take ten credit hours that will essentially get me closer to being the first person in my family to graduate from college: Michigan State University. This opportunity will help me become resourceful, with a willingness to try new things. This experience will help me enhance my communication skills and assist me in personal and professional growth. Studying abroad will help me knock down the barriers in front of me that have me mired in mediocrity. It will also help me set the bar and standard for the generations growing up behind me. I know that setting this standard for those who look up to me will give them the reassurance that, yes we all face challenges and struggles, but those challenges and struggles will motivate us to become who we really are, to know where we want to go and to help us realize what our lives can be if we have faith in God and keep trying. By knowing this, they’ll be able to find their passion and consistently go after their dreams and goals, despite minor setbacks. I have hope that my experience will motivate youth in my community to go to college, pursue their dreams and experience a study abroad opportunity such as this one.
