My Travel Story

Hi everyone!! My name is Ernest Romero and I am a sophomore studying Communications and Marketing at Boston College. I'm super excited to announce that next semester I will be studying abroad at the University of Melbourne, Australia!

This is an incredible opportunity and I am so grateful to my friends and family who have supported me in my education journey thus far. Growing up in a low-income household in Northern New Jersey, traveling was something my family and I could only dream of. My parents, both South American immigrants raised in their own respective hardship, dreamed about the places we would go around the world, in the hopes that one day we would be able to explore it for all it has to offer. 

Today, I am so privileged to say that my parents and I have been able to make our own frugal trips to their home countries of Peru and Brazil, as well as Lisbon, Paris, and Rome. These trips have only been the result of my parents' extreme sacrifice, hard work, and dedication to global culture, as they have gifted me the opportunity to see the world in ways that they could never imagine at my age.

Unfortunately, the cost for travel to Australia is more pricey than any of our previous trips. Of course, we are saving money where we can, but if there was any possible amount you or someone you know could donate to make my trip a little easier, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you so much!
