My Travel Story

by: Kamira Rahman Start Date: Oct 24, 2021 - End Date: Apr 23, 2022
Hello, my name is Kamira and I am a student and Temple University hoping to study abroad in Tokyo, Japan. I am a junior and recently transferred from a community college. I am a political science and global studies major, so doing study abroad would really help out my resume regarding international relations.

My goals for post-graduation are to obtain my masters degrees in international relations and work for the government that works with IR, such as the U.N. I have always been interested in politics and I know that by making my career I will thrive due to my dedication and passion.

Temple has an amazing program to study abroad, but unfortunately, it is a bit pricey. I have always been good with money: I've worked ever since I was 16 in both part-time and full-time jobs (when I was old enough), and tried to save my money as much as I could. As it is my first year living on my own, bills and rent have become a bit overwhelming, and I'm getting used to budgeting on my own.

Despite this, I knew since high school I wanted to study abroad and won't let money get in my way. I hope with the combination of fundraising and working, I can obtain enough funds to embark on an amazing journey that will not only expand my academic perspective but my social again.

I am aware that it is a privilege to come here and ask for funding to study abroad. if you can spare a dollar it would make all a difference! Thank you for listening to my story.
