Hello generous readers! To put it simply, Im worried this is my last chance to see my family, specifically my mom, for the holidays. I haven’t been home in over a year, and time has taken a real toll on my heart and my health. I’ve been trying to fund this trip by selling my embroidered creations, but sales in Florida have been slow, and I’m struggling to make it happen on my own. I'm a social worker and my salary isn't always a livable wage. I try to be optimistic and do what I can to get by. But, this Christmas may be my last chance to see my family before I move across the country for better work opportunities, putting even more miles between us. I miss their voices, their hugs, and the safety of being surrounded by people who love me unconditionally. But mostly I miss my mom. She is my best friend and time hasn't always been in our favor.
