My Travel Story

Teaching English as a First additional Language in Taiwan can be a rewarding and exciting experience for me as a professional educator with Passion for language and culture. As a teacher with a degree in Education, I have always been drawn to the idea of sharing knowledge and cultural experiences with students from diverse backgrounds in
my home country (South Africa). As it is  known
as a rainbow nation; this makes South Africa to be diverse in linguistics, population,
culture and traditions, backgrounds, ethnic and religious groups. For, I have two years
four months teaching students in various grades or ages honing my teaching skills and developing a deeper appreciation for this calling.

Even though, cultural adaptation takes time and patience, of which I am willing to, and embrace the differences. I am ready and willing to learn and respect local customs. With Taiwan’s growing importance in the global economy, English proficiency has become an essential skill for its citizens. It been my dream to travel, experience and learn different cultures for I am not afraid of change and I am an adventurous person. With the fact
that I am very passionate about the teaching profession, I am therefore constantly in search of opportunities to develop my skills and experience as an educator.

The primary reasons why I would like to teach English in Taiwan is because of the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students. I want to immerse myself in Taiwanese culture, create engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles, and continue growing as an educator through ongoing training and
professional development. There is an adage that says “opportunity knocks once in
every mans gate”, so I would really like to grab this one with both hands. As a
professional teacher, my role would not simply be to teach grammar and vocabulary, but also to inspire and motivate students to learn the language and appreciate the culture. I believe that my passion for teaching, combined with my knowledge of the English language and culture, would enable me to create an engaging and effective learning
environment for my students. That is why this program of teaching English in Taiwan imperative to me.
