My Travel Story

I was born in slums in Mumbai. My dad was an auto driver, driving on daily wages. Financially it wasnt possible for me to travel on my own. I finished my Masters in Commerce and joined J P Morgan Chase India operations. I got a chance for a process migration from UK to Mumbai. This was the first time I travelled in a flight outside India. In my slum neighborhood its not common to travel in flight and outside India. I was very excited and happy that I started my journey. At this point I was sure that I need to travel every year to all the corners of the world. 

However just after returning from UK I fell off from a local train and had a blood clotting at the back of my head. I had to leave Mumbai and spent 2 yrs at my native which is a small village in U.P. In these 2 years I was financially broke and had to sell my flat I bought by taking personal loan in Bhayander, Mumbai.

My travel dreams had already shattered but there was small ray of hope that I may start my journey of survival again and I did. I joined TCS with an entry level job and paid all my credit card and personal loans. But destiny had some other plans for me. I was trying to get a job in Singapore through an agent who ran away with my lifetime savings and I even lost my job.

I came to Pune in search of job and got a job in Vodafone. I started my life again and also started saving for travel. I also started travelling within India with my savings every year. However I wasnt earning much to travel out of India.

In 2020 my parents help me with funds to apply for my wifes study permit. After struggling for 3 years finally we both came to Canada in 2022.

I got a job as a maternity replacement QA in a BPO. The salary was not even enough for rent and grocery as wife was studying. Her studies are over in Apr 2024 and I lost my job in the same month. She is working survival jobs to pay the rent and I am still looking for jobs. I may get the job but it wont be sufficient for rent and survival. I want to go back to India and than travel the world. 

The desire to travel the world is still alive and I think I may fulfill my travel dreams after I get help here.

I also have other dreams of working toward my small village in U.P. I need to accumulate some funds and buy a 24hrs ambulance service free for the community. Also build a network of solar energy so that my village and the villages around may get free electricity for whole day. I have lot more ideas for rural development but everyrhing need funds. I hope I may get the financial help to do these things.
