My Travel Story

by: Inola Fitzpatrick Start Date: Jan 12, 2026 - End Date: Jun 20, 2026
Hi, my name is Inola.  I am a student at Morehead State University in Morehead, KY, and I would like to volunteer in South Korea at an animal shelter that cares for dogs that have been rescued from the meat trade.  This shelter is in desperate need of volunteers to clean kennels, bathe dogs, and socialize the animals.  Many of these animals have never had human contact.  This short video on YouTube talks about the dogs never even seeing sunlight before they are rescued: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/TBNgUFeLTRs
The dog meat trade is sadly very widespread in Asian countries.  Many organizations are fighting to get these dogs off farms and safe in shelters and other countries.  This is a cause close to my heart and I would love to be able to give my time to helping this shelter and these wonderful dogs.  They deserve to be loved and they deserve to be alive.  Please help me fund this journey this summer through the International Volunteer Headquarters which is a reputable organization.  I have already been accepted into the program, I just need your support to make this dream possible. Every donation gets me closer to helping these dogs become ready for adoption and to find their person to love them for the rest of their life.
