My Travel Story

As a student in the International Baccalaureate program, I strive to gain the experience to take risks to learn new things and gain the experience and knowledge that would last me a lifetime and will benefit me indefinitely. Out of all the destinations, I chose Europe because of its variety of cultures that I could be exposed to throughout the trip. I have always dreamed of traveling to Europe and having memories of the beautiful countries it hosts. Europe is home to countless different ideas, and I would love to understand the contrast between the United States and Europe. These destinations have wonderful historical significance and great beauty, creating a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I can use to educate myself and build stronger bonds with my community. In April of 2024, I will be a Junior in high school and this trip provides me with the opportunity of a lifetime. A trip around three different European countries will allow me to experience new cultures and open my mind to new ideas, taking on a whole new perspective. Having the opportunity to be able to participate in this trip will provide me more insight into the historical significance of the world around me. Traveling around such a wide variety of places with the objective of learning about the past and about important historical events will allow me to gain extensive knowledge of communities around the world. I will have the chance to escape my comfort zone in order to experience a more educated perspective on different cultures and attitudes that will remain with me for the rest of my life. Furthermore, it allows me to gain the experience of a lifetime and the experience of living life in a new environment.  I will be able to gain the experience of adapting to an unfamiliar environment, allowing me to efficiently learn new things during hard times. This trip will impact my educational journey tremendously as I will gain a broader perspective on the history of various different countries. I will be able to use this knowledge to further my educational career in school and eventually in a university setting. It will also allow me and my community to form new relationships and connections that will last a lifetime. This will inspire me and others to spread the word to a broader community and encourage educational endeavors through travel. This trip not only will gain me the experience of traveling to a new country and exploring its new cultures, but it also is an extremely helpful and beneficial experience that will contribute to a greater and positive change within me, and the community surrounding me. I am passionate about this trip because not only will I be gaining experience in new fields, but I will be able to do it alongside a community that cares just as much about educating one's self as I do. This project will help me view the world through a new lens and open my mind to unfamiliar things. This trip to Europe is meaningful to me as an individual because of the options it provides for me. Traveling abroad will open up new doors, meet new people, gain experiences I would not be able to gain here in America, and most importantly, achieve my dreams of traveling to a new country and gaining new memories that I will never forget. I am also able to gain experience for my resume to possibly open up more opportunities in the future, such as this one.\
