My Travel Story

2025 will be my 34th year in public education and I plan to retire after the spring semester in June 2025.  As a high school administrator for the past 25 years I have worked throughout the year, yes, including summers, and averaged more than 50 hours a week throughout that time.  When I started 25 years ago, I had 20 days of vacation.  Twenty-five years later I have 20 days of vacation.  I do appreciate the vacation time! But there are many hours I have spent on weekends at school events, sharing in experiences with students, concerts at night, emergency calls to the building at 3:00 am, being "on call" 24/7, etc.  
One of my bucket lists items for retirement is to simply spend 20 days, uninterrupted, not attached to my phone, email, etc. and just LIVE in the time, place and serenity of a majestic south Pacific island.  
 This fund would be used to help fulfil this bucket list item.  I may get this adventure crossed off on my own, in the future, but with some outside funding, someone who wants to help make a retirement dream come sooner, rather than later I could ensure the trip of a lifetime to unwind, reflect, maybe visit local schools, read a few books, listen to music and enjoy a completely different, slower paced life for a while.  Thank you for visiting!
