Science without Borders: Support My research in Mexico
My Travel Story
Hello, my name is Frank González, a Biotechnology Engineering student at the Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander in Colombia. I have been selected to conduct a research stay in Mexico, where I will work on a project focused on studying the elemental content in macroalgae and its relationship with water quality in coastal areas. This research is crucial for understanding how these organisms can be used as bioindicators, helping to identify and mitigate environmental issues such as eutrophication and water pollution.
The importance of this study lies in its ability to provide accurate data on the health status of marine ecosystems, which is essential for biodiversity conservation and the sustainable management of aquatic resources. In Mexico, I will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts in the field, use advanced technology, and conduct experiments that are not possible in my country, contributing innovative solutions to protect our oceans and coasts.
However, this great opportunity comes with a financial challenge. I do not receive financial support from my university or the government to cover the costs of transportation, accommodation, and living expenses during my stay. That’s why I am reaching out to you: your support will be crucial in enabling me to carry out this project. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to achieving my goal and contributing to scientific knowledge for the benefit of all.
Thank you for considering supporting me and being part of this effort to improve water quality and protect our coastal ecosystems. Together, we can make a difference!
